Consultancy is an industry that depends on the acquisition and management of knowledge. The biggest component of its ability is to offer expert solutions and advice to its clients. During my ethnographic research I observed that one of the biggest sources of knowledge is its interactions with its clients: where the services and solutions that the consultancy firm offered evolved because of previous project knowledge. The consultancy was able to make every project an ‘experiment’ rather than solely ensuring the solution is implemented well. However, the relationship between consultant and client is a grey area and the current focus of my study.
