Hi, my name is Johnny, I grew up in the heart of the Peak District where I enjoyed rock climbing and long rambles drifting through the landscape. I have always been curious about how we form beliefs about the world around us and I studied philosophy and theology for my first degree. After graduating I worked for several years in mental health and homelessness services in London, working both as a front-line support worker and in strategic roles within business development teams.
I have travelled extensively, including volunteering with refugee migrant communities in Athens and consequently receiving a scholarship to attend the Amani Institute for social innovation in Sao Paulo. I believe that the health and social care sector needs innovation managers who can approach people and communities with a proactive, asset-based approach to service design and delivery. I see the arts and design methodologies on the CSM Innovation Management programme to be a great platform to experiment and develop appropriate skills and processes to handle the challenges that the health and social care sector holds for the future.
